Deacons Ministry

​Through continuous prayer to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and guided by 1 Timothy 3:8-13, the Deacon Ministry assists the Pastor with the spiritual growth of the Church. Charged by God to be the armor-bearers of the Pastor. The Deacons attend to the spiritual needs of each family and every member of the Church. The Deacons further serve as the first point of contact for these families in times of emergency and need for visitation.

Trustee Ministry

Working with the Pastor, the Trustee ministry with utmost trust, is responsible for the upkeep, the financial aspect and the business of the Church.

St John 9:4 - "I must work the works of Him that sent me, while it is day; the night cometh, when no man can work."

 

 

Christian Education Ministry

The objective of Christian Education is to help the Children of God to be aware of God's self-disclosure, seek love through Jesus Christ and to respond in Faith and Love. It is our mission that every Child of God will know who they are and their human situations means, to grow as sons and daughters of God.​

II Timothy 3:16 - “All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.”

​Sunday School Ministry

Through effective Bible teaching, we will prepare and equip believers (Ephesians 4:11-16) to carry out the Great Commission of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Matthew 28:19-20 - "Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen."

Pastor's Guild Ministry

The Pastor's Service Guild serves as direct support to the Pastor and his family through prayer, encouragement, love and works. With a willing spirit, we will assist our Pastor in his ministry both inside and outside the walls of the Church. This ministry also sponsors the Anniversary and Birthday celebrations in honor of the Pastor.

Ephesians 4:11 – “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers.”

Usher Ministry

The mission of the Ushers Ministry as keepers in Gods house is to greet and comfortably seat all who enter our doors. We will assure that the service is able to flow in decency and in order with a spirit of excellence. Ushers offer a spirit of warmth and welcome to all worshipers by offering a handshake, a smile, a hug and by answering questions for visitors or newcomers.

Psalms 84:10 - “ For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

Mighty Men Ministry

It is the mission of this ministry to encourage men to live victoriously in Jesus Christ by promoting Godly behavior and relationships in unity, spiritual growth and stewardship. As servants we will strive for the advancement of the Kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and His Church.

“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; for the Lord upholds him with His hand.” Psalms 37:23-24

Mission Ministry

Mothers Ministry
Blessed with wisdom and freed by God, empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to nurture and support the mission of our Church, to work for justice and peace, and to build an inclusive, caring community of members that strengthens the Hermon Baptist Church and witnesses to the promise of God's kingdom.

Minister's Wives Ministry


The Minister's Wives of Hermon Baptist Church will serve as vessels of God with a purpose to minister to others so that they may be uplifted spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically.​

We will support all ministries within the Church. With enthusiasm, we will motivate, encourage, and support all women and members of Hermon Baptist Church. Furthermore, we will promote outreach ministry within the community.  Last, and certainly not least, our primary goal is to uplift the precious name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Deaconess Ministry


The mission of the Deaconess Ministry is to be a living example of Christian Women as written in 1st Timothy 3:11. We will promote the spiritual uplift for the members of Hermon Baptist Church and humanity in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!​The purpose of the Deaconess Ministry is to prepare the Lord's Supper table for First Sunday and to insure that Baptismal supplies are readily available for those persons who have committed to the Lord and are being baptized in accordance with Matthew 28:19-20

​I Timothy 3:11 – “Likewise, their wives must be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, faithful in all things.”

Music Ministry


Blessed with the desire to bring praises to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, the Music Ministry is committed to the support of all auxiliaries of the Church and community through music and song.

​​Psalms 27:6- “And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy, I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord.”

Youth Ministry


The Youth Ministry mission is focused on the youth of Hermon Baptist Church and the community, preparing them to be soldiers for Christ.

​​Matthew 19:14 - “But Jesus said suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”

Scholarship Ministry

It is the mission of the Alvin J. Wesley Scholarship Fund: To assist the youth of Hermon Baptist Church to obtain scholarships to accredited colleges, universities or vocational schools; To encourage the youth of Hermon Baptist Church to strive for academic excellence; To monitor the academic progress of youth who have received scholarships from Hermon Baptist Church.
